What is Suvithra Music Community Navarathri Celebration
Suvithra Music, a federally registered non-profit [501(c)3] organization, a promoter of Indian arts and music, is planning this Community Navarathri Celebration.
Navarathri, literal meaning is nine nights, is celebrated as the most auspicious way in India and abroad by Hindus to honor Divine goddess and worship her power. During this nine days, various pooja's are performed on Goddess Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswathi, depicting, wealth, power and knowledge. It ends with Dassara or Vijayadasami, on the 10th day, (Dasami). It is believed anything we do on that day will turn out to be Vijaya (Successful).
Navarathri is celebrated in many ways throughout in India in different formats. In South, people display dolls (Bommai) and invite friends and relatives to their house. In West, Durga Pooja is an important celebration during this period.
We would like to capture this precious celebration as a part of our Suvithra Music Community Navarathri Celebration. We would like you to show us a glimpse of your celebration to showcase your tradition and how you do it and how you follow your tradition, by the way of sending us a short video.
