Smt. Seema Viswanath
Seema is a Bharathanatyam and Kathak dancer/teacher/choreographer and the artistic director of ‘NrityaMayaNanda school of Arts’, Morrisville. She is a seasoned classical dancer who has been learning Bharatanatyam for 24+ years and Kathak for 14+ years.
She has been blessed with legendary teachers who guide her in the pursuit of both the dance forms from Smt.Guru.Nandini Eswer and Smt.Lt.Guru.Dr.Maya Rao. Also seeking Kathak guidance from gharanedhar teacher Guru.Munna Shukla ji and Taal Vidya from Pandit.Divyaang Vakil guruji. and she strives to walk in their path to attain the ultimate goal of all Indian art forms, i.e. ‘bliss’.
She is residing in RTP area since 5 years and serving the community being a part of many fundraiser programs for NGOs and being a volunteer to many organizations.
This session of "Dvimukhi" showcases her understanding about two beautiful Indian classical dance forms, its history, techniques, some comparative observations and her experience of learning/performing both the dance forms, followed by a Q & A session.
